高級な麻織物「近江上布」の機屋「野々捨商店」（1884-2002年）が使用していた美しい型紙の模様と伝統文化を多くの方々に知っていただきたいという想いから、型紙の模様を綿生地にプリントし、現代の色使いで甦らせました。

滋賀県愛知郡愛荘町で120年続いた「野々捨商店」。愛荘町は室町時代に京都から伝えられた麻織物の技術と豊かな水資源を持つこと、そして近江商人の活躍によって近江上布が栄えた町です。
同じく愛荘町に自社工場を持つメーカーとして、生地からこだわり抜き、熟練の職人が１枚１枚丁寧に想いをこめて縫製しております。

Nonosute Shoten is a former weaving workshop which operated from 1884 to 2002, producing Omi-Jofu, a premium linen textile. The beautiful patterns that they used and their culture of traditional craft are treasures that we wanted to preserve and to share with a wider audience, so we developed this line to revive a selection of their traditional pattens, printed on cotton fabric with a contemporary palette.

Nonosute Shoten operated for 120 years in the Aisho Town of Shiga. This town had flourished with Omi-Jofu linen thanks to factors like the sophisticated weaving techniques acquired from Kyoto about 700 years ago, the environment of abundant fresh water, and the activities of Omi Shonin (a renowned group of successful merchants who were based in the region).
As a member of this same community, we are proud to revive traditional culture once developed by Nonosute Shoten. With carefully selected material, each piece is skillfully crafted, one by one.
